Portland’s Holy Donuts to be featured on Anderson Live

Hot on the heels of our video on the donuts of Portland, Holy Donuts, the “progressive donut shop” located at 194 Park Ave. in Portland, will be featured on an upcoming episode of “Anderson Live” on Fox.

The Christmas Eve episode, set to air at 3 p.m. this Monday on Fox, will feature Anderson Cooper and co-host Gayle King doing a segment on unusual holiday foods. The show’s producers discovered Holy Donuts’ bacon cheddar donuts – which I have sampled, and can attest to their deliciousness – and invited owner Leigh Kellis to New York to film for the show.

Holy Donut opened earlier this year, and makes a variety of gourmet donuts using Maine potatoes and sea salt. In addition to wild varieties like the bacon cheddar, the dark chocolate sea salt and sweet potato ginger, they make gluten free donuts, as well as both meat and vegetarian hand pies. They are open from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
