Rise Above Fest, now in its fourth year overall and third year in Bangor, will again bring top heavy metal and hard rock bands to the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion, with a day-long concert set for Saturday, Aug. 6 — several months later into the summer than previous festivals, which were held in May.

Headlining acts for this year’s festival include widely popular heavy rockers Disturbed, Danish metal band Volbeat, hard rockers Alter Bridge and Seether, the latter of which are the co-organizers, with Waterfront Concerts, of the Rise Above Fest, which benefits Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE), a charity that seeks to educate and help prevent suicide, a cause highly personal to Seether frontman Shaun Morgan. This will be the third year Seether has performed in Bangor.

Other bands set for Rise Above Fest this year include Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, We Came As Romans, Beartooth and I Prevail.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, Feb. 12 via Ticketmaster, or in person at Mark’s Music in Brewer. For more information, visit riseabovefest.com.
