Waterfront Concerts announced Monday morning that country superstars The Dixie Chicks will make a stop on their DCX MMXVI tour at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion, with a concert set for Thursday, June 16. Tickets for the summertime concert — the second announced so far in the Machias Savings Bank Waterfront Concert series — will go on sale via Ticketmaster on Saturday, Nov. 21. They start at $20 for lawn seats and go up.
The DCX MMXVI World Tour will visit over 40 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada, the band’s first tour in three years. The outspoken, hard-driving Dixie Chicks are one of the biggest artists of the past 20 years, with two albums — “Wide Open Spaces” in 1998 and “Fly” in 1999 — that each sold over 10 million copies, making them the country’s biggest selling female band of all time.
The Dixie Chicks join previously announced Machias Savings Bank concerts including Bryan Adams on June 28. More announcements will be coming in the next few weeks; check back with Culture Shock for the latest news.
