Nickelback cancel rest of North American tour, including Aug. 19 Bangor date

Canadian rock band Nickelback on Tuesday afternoon announced the cancelation of the entire second leg 2015 North American tour, which included an Aug. 19 stop at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor.

The band posted a statement on its website on Tuesday explaining the reason. Vocalist Chad Kroeger was found to have a cyst on his voice box that requires immediate surgery, which he will undergo in three weeks.

nickelback 2014“I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans” wrote Kroeger, in the statement on the Nickelback website. “I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible.”

Refunds for all concerts dates will be available at point of purchase. For more information on ticket refunds, visit waterfrontconcerts.com.
