Win a VIP concert experience with the Arcade Fire “Here Comes The Night” karaoke tournament

AF_Promo_11x17This summer, with rockers the Arcade Fire set to play the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion stage in Bangor on Wednesday, August 20, Waterfront Concerts and the Bangor Daily News are teaming up to offer YOU a chance to win a huge, awesome, ridiculously great prize package that includes VIP tickets to the show!

How do you get in on that? Well, you’ve gotta grab the mic and sing, for our super special Here Comes The Night karaoke tournament, sponsored by bangordailynews.com, Waterfront Concerts, Baxter Brewing Company and Svedka Vodka!

Here’s how it’ll go down. Between May 7 and May 22 ten bars, pubs and clubs across the state will host a karaoke tournament in which you, the part time rock star, will enter the contest and sing a song of your choosing. The locations and dates are:

9 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 — The Roost, Orono

9 p.m. Saturday, May 10 — The Time Out Pub, Rockland

9:30 p.m. Monday, May 12 — Paddy Murphy’s Pub, Bangor

9 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 — Silver Street Tavern, Waterville

9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 — The Asylum, Portland

9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15 — Flask Lounge, Portland

9 p.m. Friday, May 16 — The Galley Pub, Naples

9 p.m. Monday, May 19 — Pedro O’Hara’s, Lewiston

9 p.m. Thursday, May 22 — Sud’s Pub, Bethel

The winner of the tournament from each location will then descend on Bangor at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 for a second round competition at Paddy Murphy’s, hosted by yours truly, in which each singer will sing one song of their choosing and one Arcade Fire song.

After that, we’ll upload videos of you singing to bangordailynews.com, where visitors to the site will get a chance to vote on their favorite singer between June 23 and 25. We’ll announce the winner of the vote on June 27.
