Oxford woman featured as “TherMOMeter” on Jimmy Kimmel Live

JimmyKimmelHWOFSept2012Jimmy Kimmel is known for featuring viewer-submitted videos and pictures on his ABC late-night talk show regularly. After the record low temperatures nationwide, he naturally had a few bits talking about how cold it was. One of Kimmel’s writing assistants, a woman named Becky, has a mother who lives in the town of Oxford. She got her mother — identified by a Lewiston Sun Journal story as Peggy Dorf — to record a very funny video of her walking around the house with a thermometer hanging around her neck, letting people know how cold it was in different rooms. According to Kimmel, Dorf was texting her daughter all day letting her know how cold it was in Maine and specifically in her house, which is where the idea for the video came from.

In other funny Maine news, The Onion posted a video with some bad language in it, and used a picture of downtown Rockland as a stand-in for Canton, Ohio, the town they’re making fun of. Look at it here.┬áThat’s definitely Main Street in Rockland. Irony.
