Celtic Woman set for May 2014 Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion concert

In what’s the earliest Waterfront Concert announcement in the concert series’ four-year history, promoters announced Monday morning that Celtic Woman, the popular Celtic-pop singing group, will visit the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion again on Friday, May 30, 2014. Tickets are $31.75 to $101.75 and go on sale on Friday, Nov. 8 at Ticketmaster, Mark’s Music in Brewing, online at waterfrontconcerts.com and by calling 1-800-745-3000. It is the first concert announcement for the 2014 season.

The all-new stage production will celebrate Ireland and the Emerald
Isles’  Celtic heritage through a presentation of traditional Irish anthems, pop standards and original music by Emmy- nominated music producer, David Downes. Downes formerly was the music director for Irish step-dancing phenomenon “Riverdance,” and has released eight albums with the Celtic Woman lineup, which currently features Mairead Carlin, Lisa Lambe, Susan McFadden and Mairead Nesbitt, who sing and play violin.
