Battle of the Bands to benefit to Acadia Hospital

Three local bands are playing at the Cross Insurance Center – the very first musical event to happen at the brand-new venue – to benefit a very good cause.

The second annual Battle of the Bands, featuring cover bands the Retro Rockerz, the Stone Doctors and the Time Pilots, is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and will feature the three bands playing a family-friendly show. Tickets are $30 each, and benefits the Acadia Hospital. The event is Acadia’s major fundraising event for the year and proceeds specifically help youth services at the hospital. As of Tuesday morning, there were just 75 tickets left for the show, available online at acadiahospital.org.

The Retro Rockerz play an array of classic rock and oldies and have been regularly featured in Bangor’s summertime Cool Sounds Concert Series. The Stone Doctors play Rolling Stones covers and have been featured at the Bangor Waterfront Fourth of July celebration. The Time Pilots play a mix of funk, soul, classic rock and current Top 40 hits.

Acadia Hospital is a non-profit psychiatric and substance abuse treatment facility located in Bangor. Acadia serves hundreds of children and teens annually for a variety of mental health and substance abuse issues. For more information, visit acadiahospital.org.
