Opening acts for Avett Brothers, Luke Bryan announced

The opening acts for both the Luke Bryan concert, set for Aug. 31, and the Avett Brothers concert, set for Sept. 13, both at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion, were announced on Wednesday. Country singer Kelleigh Bannen will open for Bryan, while New Orleans funk rockers Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (pictured at left) will open for the Avetts.

Kelleigh Bannen made her national debut in 2012 with the single “Sorry On The Rocks.” She is expected to release a full-length album this year. She joins the band Thompson Square at Bryan’s Aug. 31 concert, tickets for while are on sale now at waterfrontconcerts.com and at ticketmaster.com.

Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and his band have been delighted audiences nationwide since the late 2000s. Andrews’ album debut album “Backatown” was nominated for a Grammy in 2010, for what Andrews, a virtuoso trombone player, called “supafunkrock.” The band has played more than 200 shows in the past 18 months on five continents, and its latest album, “For True” has garnered them even more fans. Tickets for the Avett Brothers and Trombone Shorty go on sale on Friday, June 7.
