Alt-folk trio The Avett Brothers set for Sept. 13 Bangor Waterfront concert

The Avett Brothers, a popular alternative folk trio from North Carolina, will make a stop at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion on the Bangor Waterfront on Friday, Sept. 13. Tickets for the concert go on sale on Friday, June 7, and are priced at $31.75 to $57.75.

In 2001, banjoist Scott Avett and guitarist Seth Avett formed The Avett Brothers with standup bass player Bob Crawford. Growing up in Concord, North Carolina, the boys immersed themselves in their musician dad’s record collection, falling in love with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Since then, they’ve become genre stalwarts over the course of six albums, including 2007’s acclaimed “Emotionalism,” 2009’s major label breakthrough “I and Love and You” and 2012’s “The Carpenter,” which peaked at number four on the Billboard charts. It was produced by Rick Rubin, who was responsible for albums from everything from Johnny Cash to Jay-Z, and was released on his American Recordings label.

Tickets are available at, at all Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000 or the venue box office located at Mark’s Music in Brewer. Supporting artists for the concert will be announced at a later date.
