Jim Tselikis and Sabin Lomac will be featured on this evening’s (Friday’s) episode of “Shark Tank,” set to air at 8 p.m., pitching their lobster roll food truck business plan to the panel of five billionaires, in the hopes that one of them will sign on as a business partner. Tselikis and Lomac hope a successful bid will launch the next phase of their food truck business: a Maine-based online company that will sell lobster and gourmet lobster dishes nationwide.
Tsellikis and Lomac grew up in Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough, respectively, and opened their lobster roll food truck in Los Angeles back in April. Shortly thereafter, they were approached by producers of “Shark Tank” to appear on the show. In September, a television crew came to Portland to film the cousins around the working waterfront.
The show airs at 8 p.m. every Friday on ABC, and the premise is that everyday people with interesting ideas are put into a room with five rich investors who quiz them on their businesses, and after deliberating among each other then decide whether or not to invest in them. It is the most popular Friday night show on network television.
