Though she was extremely competitive through the entirety of this season of “Food Network Star,” Rockland-based chef Michelle Ragussis didn’t take home the title – and the TV show – on last night’s final episode.
Ragussis lost to fellow competitor Justin Warner, who will name his show “Rebel With a Culinary Cause.” Warner is a native of Brooklyn, NY, and was on Team Alton Brown during the length of the show. Ragussis and Yvan Lemoine, on teams Bobby Flay and Giada de Laurentiis, were named runners up.
Ragussis – known for her dynamic personality, flair for New England cooking and ingredients, as well as her Sicilian-Greek culinary heritage – will see the season out at The Pearl in Rockland, a harborside restaurant boasting a raw bar, fine seafood dishes and stunning views. With a talent and an attitude like hers, however, this may not be the last what we’ve seen of Ragussis, on the Food Network or elsewhere.
