Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top to play Scarborough Downs

For the third time in three years, Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform in Maine – and like last summer’s well-attended concert on the Bangor Waterfront, they’ll bring their friends ZZ Top along for the ride. Skynyrd and Top will play on Friday, Sept. 7 at the Scarborough Downs Music at the Track series in southern Maine. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, June 15 at waterfrontconcerts.com. Tickets range in price from $55-$85, with a $95 gold circle ticket also available.

Lynyrd Skynyrd will release its 13th studio album on Aug. 21, titled “Last of a Dying Breed.” Despite there being only one original remember remaining in the lineup – guitarist Gary Rossington – the band remains a popular touring draw. ZZ Top has performed together for 43 years, and earlier this week, Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and Dusty Hill released their first new material in nine years, the EP “Texicali,” with lead single “I Gotsa Get Paid.”
