Waterfront Concerts announced Tuesday morning that the annual Oxxfest concert, a day-long festival featuring rock, metal and hardcore bands, would move to Scarborough Downs for this year after two previous years on the Bangor Waterfront. The festival is set for Friday, Aug. 10.

Headliners this year include 5 Finger Death Punch (pictured), Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Pop Evil, God Forbid, Emmure and Battle Cross, in addition to the side stage featuring nearly 20 Maine and New England bands, to be announced at a later date. Tickets go on sale at waterfrontconcerts.com on Friday, April 27.

Los Angeles heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch headlined Oxxfest in 2010. They became popular after their album “War Is The Answer” spawned several hit singles, including their cover of the Bad Company song “Bad Company. Killswitch Engage formed in 1999, after the breakup of metal bands Aftershock and Overcast. They have been a live favorite for more than ten years, and were nominated for a Grammy for their album “The End of Heartache.”
