Target in Bangor expanding to have grocery store!

As far as giant corporations go, I must admit, Target is one of my favorites. I am not ashamed to say that I have spent an inordinate amount of time browsing their clearance racks. Some of my favorite clothes were purchased there. Now, I have an even better excuse to spend hours at Target: in March, the Bangor location on Stillwater Avenue will open an expanded grocery store, as well as unveil renovations to the entire store.

“We’ll be what’s known as a P Fresh store,” said Greg Marston, senior team leader. “It won’t be quite as big as a Super Target, but we will be offering more groceries, like fresh produce and meat.”

Additionally, the store is undergoing renovations in general, so the empty shelves and dismantled units you currently may be seeing soon will be replaced with brand new merchandise. The store has remained virtually unchanged since it opened in 2004, so the renovations are most welcome.

“It’s just a cosmetic facelift for the entire store,” said Marston. “You’ll notice a difference. It just looks nicer.”

The renovations should be completed by March 25. In the meantime, there’s lots of items on clearance, as winter products are moving out, and spring and summer stuff is moving in. Happy shopping!
