5 Things To Do This… err… yeah.

Well, this is one of the few weekends of the year where I really don’t have much of anything to write about for 5 Things To Do This Weekend. I suspect that the majority of you will be preoccupied with rather more important matters than with what you normally do the rest of the year. I do know that if you’re looking for something entertaining for Friday night, you can check out River Bottom Funk at Ipanema and Friday karaoke at Paddy’s in Bangor, you can see Beatnik Jr, a California band that features Ben Bazi from longtime Maine band Boombazi, at the Empire Dine & Dance in Portland, and you can see one of the many movies opening this weekend, like “War Horse,” “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” and “We Bought a Zoo.” But seriously. That’s all I got. It’s Christmas, it’s Hanukkah, we just celebrated the Solstice, and of course, it’s Festivus season.

I have few grievances to air this year, though I will happily wrestle the head of the household. For Christmas this year, I’m spending it with two sets of parents, my amazing 93-year-old grandmother, and my lovely husband. I hope your holiday is fun and relaxing, and that you get what you want. Check back here next week for your regularly scheduled Culture Shock knowledge bombs. Burnham out.
